Cantina OK! “OOZE”
The ooze is the place where culture meets. It’s the space between genres, identities, categories and styles. The ooze is the forge of new ideas, the time before new rules are written and new morals are coded.
You find the ooze in music in moments like when DJ Kool Herc played two records and started to slime from disco to Hip Hop. You find it in food; the Tacos Arabes of Puebla City or a mapo tofu meat pie at Thai Kee supermarket. The ooze is natural, it isn’t ‘fusion’, not conscious effort to mix. It’s what happens when you make art with what you find around you.
